| Abstract | IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11b/g work in the same 2.4GHz industrial scientific and medical band, their coexistence is crucial to ensure both of them work efficiently under the interference of each other. In this paper we investigated the above issue through extensive measurements in a systematic way. The experimental results show that (1) the performance of IEEE 802.11b/g also suffers from the interference of IEEE 802.15.4; (2) the multiple PHY data rates of IEEE 802.11b/g have different impact on the IEEE 802.15.4; and (3) there are obvious interference ranges for IEEE 802.15.4 to IEEE 802.11b/g. We believe the measurement results are valuable for the real world deployment and design of the network integrated IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.11b/g. |
