| Abstract | Resume Objectif : L’objectif de cet article est d’etablir et de tester de nouveaux criteres de conformite pour le circuit du medicament specifique en bloc operatoire. Mise en contexte : Il existe peu de donnees sur la pratique pharmaceutique en bloc operatoire. En s’inspirant de la grille quebecoise du circuit du medicament et de ses 54 etapes, deux residents en pharmacie et un pharmacien ont etabli et teste 26 criteres de conformite lors d’une evaluation pilote en juin 2007. Les resultats de l’analyse de conformite indiquent que 27 % des criteres sont juges conformes (n = 7), 65 % sont juges partiellement conformes (n = 17) et 8 % sont juges non conformes (n = 2). Pour chaque critere, nous avons identifie un plan d’action et un echeancier. Les donnees limitees en ce qui concerne le circuit du medicament au bloc operatoire ne sont pas etrangeres a la contribution limitee des pharmaciens dans ce secteur. Conclusion : Il s’agit de la premiere evaluation publiee de la conformite du circuit du medicament en bloc operatoire au Canada, qui presente la demarche retenue et un plan d’action. Abstract Objective : The purpose of this article is to establish and test new conformity criteria for the drug distribution circuit specific to the operating room. Context : Few data exist regarding pharmacy practice in the operating room. Using the Quebec 54-step drug distribution circuit template, two pharmacy residents and one pharmacist established and tested 26 conformity criteria during a pilot evaluation in June, 2007. The results of the conformity analysis showed that 27% of criteria were deemed to conform (n=7), 65% were deemed to conform partially (n=17), and 8% were deemed not to conform (n=2). For each criterion, we determined an action plan and schedule. Given the limited contribution of pharmacists in the operating room, data are also limited with respect to the drug distribution circuit. Conclusion : This was the first published evaluation in Canada of the conformity of a drug distribution circuit in the operating room, and it presents a new approach and action plan.
