| Abstract | The knowledge of the regional structure of lithic resources and its geochemical characterization are important clues to the understanding of human strategies of raw material utilization. In this paper we describe the exploratory results obtained from the application of a regional methodology of sampling of raw material sources in the area of lake Argentino, where secondary potential raw material sources are abundant. They show the existence of variability in their availability. Geochemical analysis indicates a good correlation between the geochemical characteristics of the rocks and its spatial distribution. It was also possible to identify the existence of curational strategies of the chalcedonies and opales. |
