Resultados: Estabeleceu-se como nivel de significância estatistica p Introduction: Using sports as means of recovery and social integration of people with motor deficiencies has been of great importance. The sport activity as means of motor recovery has shown satisfactory results. Thus, due to its influence on body movement, the capoeira could be useful as complementary therapy in the cerebral palsy. Objective: The aim of this study was to verify if capoeira has any influence on balance and motor coordination in children with spastic cerebral palsy. Methods: The sample involved 15 voluntary children with cerebral palsy and spastic hemiparesis diagnosis under physiotherapeutic supervision. They were divided in two groups (experimental and control). The control group had only physiotherapy sessions while the other group had not only physiotherapy sessions but practiced capoeira as well. In order to evaluate the results sub-tests two and three were used, referring to static and dynamic balance as well as motor coordination of Motor Proficiency of the Bruininks-Oseretsky test (MPBOT). Results: The established level of significance was p |
