Abstract	espanolEste articulo ofrece una propuesta didactica para un curso de espanol como segunda lengua (ESL) ajustado al contexto chileno de inmigracion y a la realidad de la ensenanza de ESL a inmigrantes haitianos en Chile. Por una parte, nuestra propuesta se basa en la perspectiva sociosemiotica de ensenanza de lenguas (Martin y Rose 2005) y en las fases para la integracion social en cursos de segundas lenguas (Moreno Fernandez 2009). Por otro lado, consideramos las necesidades de aprendizaje de los aprendientes haitianos, ya que estudiamos cuales son las funciones comunicativas que ellos consideran mas importantes de aprender en un curso de ESL. A partir de lo senalado, proponemos una organizacion para la ensenanza-aprendizaje de ESL que atienda a las singularidades de la ensenanza a inmigrantes, estructurando los cursos modularmente, en base a generos, a la integracion social de los aprendientes y a sus necesidades expresas de comunicacion. This article displays a didactic proposal for Spanish as second language (SSL) classes for Haitian immigrants in Chile, adjusted to the Chilean context of immigration. On one hand our contribution is based on the socio-semiotic perspective of genre based teaching (Martin and Rose 2005), and the phases for social integration in SL classes (Moreno Fernandez 2009). On the other hand, we also considered the learning needs of the Haitians, hence we used multiple choice questionnaires for Haitians to determine the most important communicative functions for them to learn in SSL. From these factors we proposed that an option for SSL teaching intended for Haitians immigrants is to organize the syllabus modularly, by genres, considering social integration of learners, and the functions selected by them.
