| Abstract | the World Health Assembly adopted a resolution on patient safety, stipulating that safety and quality of care are fundamental dimensions of universal health coverage, both for organizations and their officials; being a priority, ensuring safe care through the prospective approach to risk, minimizing unsafe actions. Objective of this investigation To evaluate the perception of the safety culture of the patient in the care personnel of the neonatal intensive care unit, in an IPS of the city of Barranquilla in the year 2018. Under a methodology of quantitative, descriptive cross-sectional type, with a sample of 62 workers; using as instrument the survey Agency of Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) Spanish version, which yielded as results Of the twelve dimensions that were evaluated was identical as foertaleza: Organizational learning, notification of events, teamwork and support of the Hospital management in terms of patient safety is had. And as an improvement plan it was identified: communication frankness, feedbarck and communication, non-punitive responses to errors, teamwork with the other areas, problems in turn change and / or transitions between services, staffing and support of the administrative organization within the service. In conclusion, the global average of negative responses 24.5% neutral responses 23.7% and positive 51.9% for a total global adherence to safety policies, under the strategy of the culture of patient safety classified as an opportunity for improvement. |
