| Abstract | A range of issues is presented in this chapter associated with the design and management of biodrainage systems. In considering their long-term viability, biodrainage systems will have to be subjected to the same scrutiny as other plant-based biological systems with regards to nutrient and saltbalance, soil considerations, etc. Moreover, as largescale adoption of biodrainage crops could include considerable tracts of land, socio-economic considerations will have to be taken into account when considering the adoption of this technique. |
