| Abstract | This work expose briefly what are the Logics of Formal Inconsistency. Those logics do not trivialize the consequence relation in the presence of contradictions, since from α and ¬α we just derive •α, that is, α is not consistent, or not safe. Analogously, the Logics of Deontic Inconsistency are logics that do not trivialize the consequence relation in the presence of conflicting obligations, since from ©α and ©¬α we would just obtain α, that is, α is not deontically consistent, or not deontically safe. That approach seems interesting mainly for analyzing deontic paradoxes, in which from a set Γ of intuitively consistent premises, we derive ©α and ©¬α. In order to exemplify we will regard just one paradox, namely Chisholm’s Paradox. |
