| Abstract | Neste artigo, apresentamos uma proposicao para o trabalho com o assunto ligacoes quimicasno ensino medio, cuja defesa e argumentacao e feita em dois momentos distintos. No primeiro,propomos que os modelos de ligacoes quimicas – ionicas, metalicas e covalentes – sejam desenvolvidosa partir de atividades experimentais que possibilitem a observacao de algumas propriedadesde diferentes substâncias. No segundo, propomos o ensino de geometria molecular a partir daTeoria de Repulsao dos Pares de Eletrons de Valencia (TRPEV) e, para facilitar a compreensao dapropria teoria e de geometria molecular, sugerimos o uso de modelagem. In this paper, a suggestion to work with the subject “Chemical Bond” in High Schools ispresented. The defence and argumentation of this suggestion is made in two different moments. First,we propose that chemical bond models – covalent bond, ionic bond and metallic bond – are developedfrom experimental activities which enable the observation of some properties of different substances.Second, we propose the teaching of molecular geometry from the Valence Shell-Pair RepulsionTheory (VSEPR). Besides, we suggest the use of concrete models in order to facilitate the understandingof the VSEPR and of the molecular geometry. |
