| Abstract | This article tries to stand out the importance of the social policies management as a potential source of competitive advantage. With this goal, we have analized the relationships between the international companies and the society trough an empircal research. The results have allowed us to verify the existence of a change in companies' perception about the effort they dedicate to the protection of the social well-being. This way, companies operating in a higher competitive environment malee a higher effort to institutionalize a strategic process of social response. This process will allow firms to answer their staleeholders' demands, and can becomes a distinctive strategic factor that could differentiate the firm in a competitive environment. |
