| Abstract | The temperature increase in steels under cyclic loa ding can be associated to the irreversible mechanis ms occurring at a microscopic scale that are also resp onsible for the microcracks initiation. Thus, in or der to improve the fatigue resistance of steels, a poly crystalline model is proposed to help in a better understanding of the interactions between the micro structure and the dissipative mechanisms. The frame of crystal plasticity is used to describe these dissipative mechanisms that can either be due to dislo cation lines oscillations or to plastic slip.
