| Abstract | Complex formation between flavin and phenol in aqueous solution was re ported by Yagi and Matsuoka (1). It has also been shown that complex formation between phenol and flavin-adenine dinucleotide (FAD) results in the inhibition of D-amino acid oxidase (2). This suggests the possibility of complex formation occurring in vivo. It is known that phenol causes characteristic convulsions in animals. The effect of flavins on convulsions caused by phenol was therefore studied. A part of this work was described in a preliminary note (3). |
