| Abstract | This paper is a case study of Profito Project, created in 2006 by the Laboratorio da Biodiversidade (PAF/NGBS/Fiocruz) in partnership with the Instituto Tres Rios (UFRRJ) and farmers of Parque Estadual da Pedra Branca (PEPB), highlighting the importance of this as a practical example of innovation. It was used a qualitative methodology, conducted through a not exhaustive literature review from 2006 to 2015. The Profito involved the farmers on capacitation courses of planting, technical information and product certification, in according to market demands. Also promoted profound changes in the way of life of these, with their inclusion in a socio-technical network, which generated irreversible transformations in cooperation and coordination of these associations, forums and advice. The original project is still unfolding in subprojects until today. So Profito project is a example of how this approach can be one of the ways for Brazilian development, enabling new conditions from the social, political or economic viewpoint. |
