| Abstract | The results of a study whose purpose was to unveil requirements for families of children with special educational needs against the role of nursery educator are presented. Methodology used was a descriptive qualitative design based on case study. Involved two experts in the subject: family, role of the nursery teacher and special educational needs; plus four families of children with special educational needs, subdivided into: two families with children diagnosed with attention deficit disorder and two families with children diagnosed with Asperger’s disorder. All were interviewed in depth using an instrument developed and validated for this research. Among the most important findings are classroom and family strategies used by nursery educator that enhance teaching role against educational work with children with special educational needs and their families. |
