| Abstract | We present data corresponding to a study carried out in civil and military population which had as a main goal to determine, the psychometric characteristics of Path Goal Questionnaire (Indvik, 1985, 1988). Individual differences were also examined according to context (military/civilians), job type (leader/follower) and organizational culture perception (transformational/transactional). Data were gathered in 1491 participants (1003 civilian; 488 military cadets). Results indicated that PGQ has good psychometric properties (reliability and validity) to be used in civilians and military settings. Leaders had a goal oriented leadership style compared to followers. Civil leaders were more participative compared to military leaders. Considerate leadership styles were more characteristic of transformational organizations. |
