| Abstract | The present research is based on the constant concern about how to take advantage of historical studies within the classroom, where the difficulties that arise in the relationship of this disciplinary area and the students are recognized, who perceive it as a distant knowledge for them. These problems generate the question about the processes that can be generated to make interesting the study of the past, before which was identified as a starting point the relationship that students have with their own history and memory, which are unknown to most. For all these reasons, the question that guided this investigation was: how to generate a process of recovery of the memory and the historical conscience in the students of the Educational Institution El Madroño of the municipality of Belalcázar, Caldas? Upon assuming this challenge, it is intended to create a space in which students developed research practices that allowed them to recognize relevant aspects in their identification as historical subjects, this process is approached from the concept of qualitative research with a model in action research (AI) which allowed the use of a wide variety of information collection instruments (structured, natural observation, interviews, photographs .) that allowed condensing valuable information that was later analyzed. The students became fundamental investigative actors in all the moments of the investigation managing to recover the memory of the inhabitants of the village of El Madroño, where they told and evoke different moments and processes that have had as epicenter to their community. The students identified processes such as the occupation or colonization of space, division of the path into sectors, construction of representative institutions, periods of violence and a fundamental part is the compilation of the memory of the Educational Institution El Madroño. With this process a new vision of the students towards the disciplinary study of the history is achieved, in that this is not a distant knowledge to them, with this it was possible to generate different critical visions of the actual reality of the path besides configuring throughout the research process, a nascent historical awareness based on interest, assessment, analysis, criticism and possible visions of the environment in which the students meet. |
