| Abstract | Com o aumento da busca por um estilo de vida mais saudavel, associada a crescente oferta de recursos ergogenicos, os esportistas buscam potencializar o desempenho com o auxilio de suplementos alimentares. Diante do exposto, o presente estudo objetivou realizar avaliacao nutricional e investigar o consumo de suplementos alimentares em praticantes de musculacao em academias do municipio de Tenente Portela-RS. A amostra foi constituida por 20 individuos de ambos os generos, os mesmos responderam a um questionario com 18 perguntas de multipla escolha, realizou-se tambem avaliacao antropometrica e bioquimica. Foram investigados individuos de ambos os generos, sendo que 70% (n: 14) eram do sexo masculino. A idade media encontrada foi de 23,85±6,68 anos. Verificou-se que o principal suplemento consumido pelos praticantes foi o Whey protein, 50% (n:10) seguido de aminoacidos de cadeia ramificada e creatinina, ambos com percentual de consumo de 30% (n: 6). Tambem pode-se observar os participantes em sua maioria fazem uso de suplementacao sem a prescricao de profissional habilitado. Quanto aos exames laboratoriais os valores medios para homens e mulheres mantiveram-se dentro das faixas de normalidade. Embora os valores medios de creatinina ficassem proximo ao limite maximo estabelecido. Diante do exposto, conclui-se ha necessidade de maior esclarecimento por parte dos consumidores de suplementacao sobre as reais necessidades de utilizacao destas substâncias, potenciais beneficios e efeitos nocivos do consumo, bem como, sugere-se maior participacao de profissionais Nutricionistas nas academias. ABSTRACT Consumer assessment of food supplements for practitioners of academies of city of Tenente Portela-RSWith increasing quest for a healthier lifestyle, coupled with the growing supply of ergogenic resources, athletes seek enhance the performance with the help of dietary supplements. Given the above, this study aimed to carry out nutritional assessment and investigate the use of food supplements for bodybuilders in gyms in the city of Tenente Portela-RS. The sample consisted of 20 individuals of both genders, they answered a questionnaire with 18 multiple choice questions, also held up anthropometric and biochemical evaluation. individuals of both genders were investigated, and 70% (n = 14) were male. As for laboratory tests mean values for men and women remained within normal ranges. Although average creatinine values were close to the maximum. Given the above, it is concluded that there is need for further clarification by the supplementation of consumers about the actual use of these substances needs, potential benefits and harmful effects of consumption, and it is suggested greater involvement of Nutritionists professionals in gyms. |
