| Abstract | This paper aims to show the process of computing an life conditions indicator for the cities of Baixada Fluminense, using Multicriteria tecniques. It explores the different options of Promethee II technique – model MCAcombining different primary indicators, weights and preference functions. The paper is divided in three general sections, besides this introduction and the final remarks. It begins briefly reviewing papers on MCA applications dedicated to help the Public Policy Cycle process; then it presents methodological concerns and, finally, it shows the computing process of the Life Conditions Multicriteria Indicator for Baixada Fluminense. The weights or preference functions chosen do not seem to affect the cities ranking on the life conditions scale, as it appears to happen when the indicators used as criteria are correlated. The changes on cities rankings appear when criteria-indicators are nor correlated. |
