| Abstract | HIV and AIDS is a health issue. Ambon is located on the highest order of the spread of AIDS cases in Maluku province, which is 632 patients. HIV and AIDS can be transmitted through multiple modes of transmission, ie sexual intercourse opposite sex (heterosexual), same-sex relationships through a man Sex with Men (MSM), and so forth. This study aimed to obtain information regarding the WPS behavior against the risk of transmission of HIV-AIDS. This is a qualitative research design with phenomenology. The results showed that the knowledge of female sex workers (FSW) on HIV and AIDS is just plain menuar through sexual contact and can be prevented by using condoms during sexual transactions. FWS agree with condom use, but not all WPS implement behavior using condoms to customers primarily in the FWS girlfriend. Not all FWS negotiating condom use to the customer. However, there is a consistent FWS continue to use condoms during sexual transact all current customers. Health officer has the program on HIV-AIDS and health checks periodically to FWS. But there are some who do not follow the FWS or carry out checks on health care workers. The conclusion from this research that for women sex workers as long as they can get paid to meet the daily lives so that they know about HIV-AIDS neglected. |
