| Abstract | This study is intended to show that school culture unfolds itself in two very important reference areas. One is what has been called school material culture, and is constituted by the set of objects and instruments used in the teaching / learning activity. The other one is the instituting discourse of this same project, which involves the learning and interpersonal relationships together. To analyze this last aspect of school culture, we have resorted especially to ego-documents, this time reduced to a brief set of documents written after required for the investigation and focusing on the action / relationship between teachers and students in Portuguese primary schools at the end of the 20th century. The testimonies taken were especially prepared for this work, although the intentions behind them have not been declared to their authors. |
