Abstract	This paper points at ways to a methodological discussion about a research field called material school culture. The interests in that field have a complex and interdisciplinary nature, because of its wideness, that deals with the history of education, as well as anthropology, sociology and pedagogy. The importance of this discussion is related to the analysis and the comprehension of the school practices.
