| Abstract | ANALISE DA QUALIDADE DE VIDA DE CRIANCAS E ADOLESCENTES EM TRATAMENTO ONCOLOGICO NO MUNICIPIO DE MONTES CLAROS-MG Resumo: Objetivo: Esse trabalho tem como intuito analisar a qualidade de vida de criancas e adolescentes, em tratamento oncologico cadastradas na Fundacao Sara Albuquerque Costa, na cidade de Montes Claros/ Minas Gerais, centro de referencia da regiao do Norte de Minas Gerais. Metodos: Este estudo de carater descritivo, prospectivo e transversal. Para tanto, foi aplicado o questionario Pediatric quality of life cancer module (PedsQL), a fim de analisar o impacto dos procedimentos terapeuticos, da sintomatologia, dos efeitos colaterais e toxicos, das alteracoes sociais e dos aspectos da vida diaria e psicologica na qualidade de vida desses pacientes. Resultados: Verificou-se, que muitas vezes, criancas e adolescentes em tratamento oncologico apresentavam algumas dificuldades especiais. Constatou-se que a maioria das criancas sentiam nauseas durante o tratamento oncologico e em especifico, frente a certas situacoes. Pode-se inferir que um dos grandes medos dessas criancas se relaciona com as agulhas e injecoes que recebem frequentemente. Alem disso, a metade dos entrevistados relataram, com certa frequencia, que nao se acham bonito. Conclusao: Percebe-se a importância de criar medidas e acoes que possam diminuir a ansiedade e o medo das criancas e adolescentes e dessa forma, melhorar a sua qualidade de vida. Abstract: Objective: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of life of children and adolescents on cancer treatment who are enrolled in the Sara Albuquerque Costa Foundation, in the city of Montes Claros / MG, a reference center in the Northern region of Minas Gerais. Methods: This is a descriptive, prospective and cross - sectional study. The Pediatric Quality of Life (PedsQL) questionnaire was applied, analyzing the impact of therapeutic procedures, symptomatology, side effects and toxic effects, social changes and aspects of daily and psychological life on the quality of life of these patients. Results: It is noticeable that children and adolescents in cancer treatment often have some special difficulties. It is possible to observe that the majority of the children feel nausea during the oncological treatment and in specific, in certain situations. It can be inferred that one of the great fears of these children relates to the needles and injections they often receive. In addition, half of those interviewed reported that they are often not handsome. Conclusion: The importance of creating measures and actions that can reduce the anxiety and fear of children and adolescents and, thus, improving the quality of life is perceived. |
