Abstract	Digital television will have an imminent deployment in the next coming years, and considering that interactivity is one of the main advantages of this kind of systems, it is required a study of the usability of interactive applications in which the user actively participates during the transmission of a television program. Therefore it is necessary to find the best way to design usable applications in interactive Digital Television environments (iTV). This paper presents a set of guidelines supporting design of usable applications in iTV environments, which have been proposed from a set of usability evaluations conducted at the Digital Television Laboratory of the Universidad del Cauca (Colombia).
