| Abstract | The aim of this work was to analyze the relationship between some neonatal measures (head circumference, weeks of gestation, Apgar score at one minute and weight at birth) with the mental and motor development of premature infants at two years of corrected age. 19 children born with less than 32 weeks gestation (= 29.84 weeks) and weighing less than 1500 grams (= 1099.89) took part in it. At birth, to these children were taken the neonatal variables, and at 2 years corrected age the mental and motor development were assessed using the Scales to assess child development BSIDII (Bayley, 1993). The results show that some neonatal variables have predictive value for the motor and mental development of these infants. |
