| Abstract | 14.00 This paper analyses the direct and indirect public expenses on environmental management in Sao Paulo State, within the period of 1986-90. Stressing the difficulties on aggregating and interpretating information from the public accounting, it outlines the low volume of resources and its dispertion among agencies. The conclusions point out the need of a public accounting review, towards a better articulation and transparence of public actions on this field.
