| Abstract | espanolEl hijo (Glenat, 2009) es una novela grafica cuyo sujeto fue escrito por Mario Torrecillas y dibujado por Tyto Alba. En ella, se cuenta la historia de Matias, un joven boxeador que malvive en tiempos de posguerra y dedica parte de su vida a la busqueda de su madre, internada en un manicomio. El arte de volar (Edicions de Ponent, 2009) es una novela grafica que surgio de la colaboracion entre el guionista Antonio Altarriba y el dibujante Kim. En ella, se hace la cronica de toda una generacion a traves de los sentimientos de un hombre corriente cuya existencia resulta determinada por el irrefrenable curso de la historia. Ambos textos desarrollan, mediante los recursos innovadores del genero al que pertenecen, el tema de las tremendas consecuencias de la posguerra, reflejando al mismo tiempo la madurez de la historieta espanola y reconociendole una definitiva dignidad literaria. En ambas novelas, ademas, se balancean sapientemente el dibujo y los textos, a traves de un estilo que parece llamar a la memoria las tecnicas literarias del Tremendismo de los anos cuarenta del siglo pasado, lo que contribuye a hacer de ellas el acertado retrato de toda una epoca. La finalidad de este trabajo es la de analizar las estrategias narrativas que ambos textos utilizan a la hora de analizar un tema clave del reciente pasado espanol. EnglishEl Hijo (Glenat, 2009) is a graphic novel written by Mario Torrecillas and drawn by Tyto Alba. The novel tells the story of Matias, a young boxer who tries to survive after the Civil War, dedicating part of his life to the search of his mother, who escapes from a madhouse. El arte de volar (Edicions de Ponent, 2009) is a graphic novel based on the cooperation between the writer Antonio Altarriba and the sketcher Kim. The novel is the realistic portrait of an entire generation, represented through the life of a common person, whose life is totally controlled by the irrepressible forces of history. The two novels deeply investigate into one of the most tragic and painful moments in Spanish history, that is, the first years after the end of the Civil War. The aim of this work is to analyze the narrative strategies used in both texts in order to present this specific historical period. |
