| Abstract | The 13C and 31P NMR data of the Horner phosphines PRR′R″ [R = Me. R′ = t-Bu, R'″ = Ph (2) or i-Pr (4)] and their diastereomeric 1:1 adducts with [η3-(+)(1 R, 5 R)-pinenyI]nickel bromide dimer (3) and (5), respectively, are reported. It is shown that the optical purities of the phosphines can be deduced easily from the NMR spectra. Not only are these values in very good agreement with those obtained from optical rotatory data but they are also obtained much more conveniently. |
