| Abstract | Landscape patterns for three (3) different zones wi th (Oak tree) Roble presence Clarete, Rejoya and Pisoje, in Popayan locality we r determined. Two Landsat images from different years and polygons with areas iqual o greater than 1.5 hectares were used in land usage identification. Patch Analy st software was ran in order to determine quantitative variables. Structure description was done by means of data concerning number of patches, mean patch size, mean patch index, mean patch fractal dimension and the mean perimeter-area ratio. Disper sion and fragmentation were evaluated with three indexes:mean nearest neighbour distance, mean proximity index, interspersion juxtoposition index. Community variables were registered, and located as a point in oak tree forests for each landscape studied, using this as a basis worked in field registering community variables refers to basal area, terrain slope, light percentaje and regeneration density. Information registered about landscape and community, allowed to conduct an analysis of main c omponents, this analysis showed that the two first components explained 91.4% of da t variability, and that they were determined in a major proportion by landscape variables and in lesser degree by community own factors. A correlation analysis and Kruskal Wallis test were conducted, this analysis showed that the variables of major concern over oak tree regeneration were the neighboor distance in secunda ry forest patches; mean proximity index in oak tree forest patches and yuxt aposition index in patches of planted forest.
