| Abstract | The present work shows the impact study of Bolsa Família’s Program on basic education of municipal school from Rolante/RS. It investigates on which dimension Bolsa Família’s Program achieved its aims on the frequency and truancy index of students beneficiated from the Program. The study was based on data of Frequency Project, supplied by the Municipal Departments of Education, Sport and Culture of Rolante/RS and Social and Economic Development Index of Economic and Statistic Foundation, interviews with Social Assistance’s secretary of Rolante and with the Social Assistant responsible for Center Reference and Social Assistance. It describes Bolsa Família’s Program, characterizes Rolante’s Municipal Public Education, and studies the scholar frequency indexes of students beneficiated of the Program and the truancy index of Rolante’s Municipal Public Education. The study points out that 37% of students enrolled on Basic Education of Rolante’s Municipal Public Education are beneficiated of Bolsa Família’s Program. The indexes of scholar approval, scholar abandonment and age/level distortion show positive results from 2008 on, the year after implantation, by Decree 6.135 of June 26, 2007 on Cadastramento Único for social programs of federal government. Between 2006 and 2010, period in study, the indexes of scholar approval increased from 88,30% to 94,9%, the distortion age/level decreased 4,30% and scholar abandonment rate decreased from 2,5% to 0,3%. The study also shows the quantitative of students in situation of reproving, distortion age/level and scholar abandonment, in this group the reproving index decreases 56,14%, and distortion age/level decreases 20% and scholar abandonment decreased 88%. Based on results obtained in this study, taking as reference the year of 2006, it is possible to state that Bolsa Familia’s Program has a positive influence on Municipal Basic Education in Rolante/RS. This affirmative takes evidence on progressive rising of the scholar approval indexes and on the expressive reducing of scholar truancy rate.
