| Abstract | This paper presents a study of non-formal education in Ponta Grossa City – Parana State. The research aims at describing and analysing three projects of non-formal education. The data were collected through interviews and questionnaires completed by the coordinators and teachers involved in the projects. It was possible to establish that the projects had a fl exible curriculum and applied innovative methodologies towards the construction of citizenship. It concludes that the function of non-formal education projects is not to reproduce the same activities as at formal school, but to develop the citizenship of the participants through access to culture, arts, leisure, and information. |
