| Abstract | The formulation of self-compacting concretes uses s veral methods including excess paste method. The c oncept of this method is associated with a characterization of the granular skeleton by calculating the average diameter and pa cking density. While adopting the method of compressible packing, we have first ident ifi d and validated a homothety parameter between t h crude and coated aggregate. This approach has allowed us to validate the method of formulation outside the studied experimental do main. In this study, we have also optimized the granular skeleton and subsequently de ermine the optimal volume of paste necessary to se parate aggregates on one side, and allow a good flow of the mixture in the other side. Self-compacting pastes were made from a mixture de sign based on a polynomial model. From this paste and gradually additions of water or aggregates for a mass ratio of gravel / sand varyi ng from 0.8 to 1.1, it was possible to make self-compacting concrete, meeting all criteria recommended by the AFGC. |
