| Abstract | This article has a twofold goal. First, it makes a theoretical reflection on the marxist concept of profit rate, in which its general, uniform and average dimensions are explained, connecting them with the phases of abstraction that Marx covers in his book Das Kapital, by which it differentiates from the traditional interpretation in the marxist literature. On the other side, it analyzes the implications of its empirical measure, broaching the distinction between productive and unproductive labor, the appropiation of rent and the stock of capital. |
