| Abstract | Ao se estudar a aplicabilidade dos conhecimentos ministrados nas escolas de Biblioteconomia, o nivel de importância dada aos servicos de informacao e a existencia de uma politica de seu desenvolvimento, verificou-se que ha uma separacao entre a pratica e ateoria. A situacao precaria da maioria desses servicos nas bibliotecas pesquisadas deve-se a ausencia de processos de avaliacao que proporcionem parâmetros para um melhor atendimento as necessidades de informacao dos usuarios.
