| Abstract | The present study investigates the level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment among employees working in public sector organizations in Saudi Arabia. The study further investigates the relationships among demographic variables (Age and Tenure), job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The sample consisted of 210 employees from different government offices located in Yanbu City. Job Descriptive Index (JDI) and Organizational Commitment questionnaires were used to collect information on the variables under study. Correlation coefficient and multiple regression analyses were used to analyze the data. Findings show a moderate level of job satisfaction and organizational commitment among the respondents. Job satisfaction facets and organizational commitment are found to be positively related. As far as the demographic variables are concerned, only tenure was found significantly related to commitment. Job satisfaction facetsand job tenure were the significant predictors of organizational commitment. |
