| Abstract | The aim of this work is to measure and analyze the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness made of high impact conductive polystyrene associated with carbon black loads (HIPS/NC). We studied the effect of frequency, of angle of incidence and polarization of electromagnetic wave on the reflection loss, the absorption loss, the multiple internal reflections and the shielding effectiveness. The theoretical study of the properties of electromagnetic shielding is carried out using the simplified matrix form of the transmission line theory. The experimental measurements are carried out using the rectangular waveguide associated with the vector network analyzer in a frequency range from 2 to 3 GHz. Then, and in order to broaden the frequency domain, we measured the shielding effectiveness by using the anechoic chamber between 10 MHz and 26.5 GHz. The (HIPS/NC) exhibits an shielding effectiveness of 4.5 dB in 10 MHz and 12 dB in 23 GHz. In addition, we obtained a good agreement between the theoretical and experimental values with a very slight difference of ± 0.5 dB due to measurement uncertainties. |
