| Abstract | The aim of our study is to model radiative heat tra nsfer in pure argon thermal plasmas. A spectral mod el has been developed for argon lines which undergo ab sorption. Emission and absorption profiles for argon lines are thus examined. Radiative processes for which the plasma is transparent are taken into account with a Net Emission Coefficient (NEC) where as the others are treated with a diffusive spectral model, well adapted to optically thick medias.
