| Abstract | This article concerns the theme of the precariazation of what is known as the Argentine middle class in the framework of neoliberal politics. The aim is to articulate the public politics and actions of survival as well as struggle that were undertaken by both individuals and social collectives, from the perspective in which the economic and social contingencies were lived and what they signified. The ethnographic referents used here are from various field studies undertaken by the authors and other cited investigators; they elucidate the effects on the make-up of identities connecting the individual with the collective.
