| Abstract | This paper aims to characterize the natural vegetation, as well as to evaluate an area of reforestation in a fragment of a Semi deciduous Seasonal Forest, on the left bank of Aurora stream, in Astorga , state of Parana . Five 30 x 10m perpendicular samples were delimited for adult vegetation assessment and natural regeneration and eight samples with the same dimension for reforested area assessment. 922 adult individuals and 870 regenerated individuals belonging to 63 species, 31 families and 55 genuses were observed. Families with the most significant number of species were Myrtaceae (5), Mimosaceae (5), Papilionaceae (4) and Caesalpiniaceae (4), 560 individuals belonging to 9 families, 14 species and 14 genuses were observed. in the reforested area. In conclusion, analyzing the natural regeneration of floristic composition, the species diversity increased while the riparian forest regeneration did not occur in a satisfactory way probably due to inadequate species plantation. |
