| Abstract | In this paper we study the Pre-Service Teacher Training of Mathematics, in the University of Minho, considering (1) the supervisory process, in terms of the school mentors; (2) the teaching practices of the trainees, in terms both of school mentors and students; (3) the extra-curricular activities and interpersonal relationships developed by the trainees groups, in terms both of schools mentors and coordinators of the Mathematics Section, as well as and (4) the changes to the pre-service teaching practice, in terms both of school mentors and coordinators of the Mathematics Section. Data were collected through three questionnaires, one near the mentors of mathematics in schools, another near the students from the classes in which the trainees were taught and the third one near the coordinators of the Mathematics sections. In terms of format, the questionnaire included closed items (with Likert scales) and some open items. In terms of results, in general it should be a favorable opinion of the majority or the vast majority of participants on the first three dimensions of pre-service teaching practice that have been studied. Among these dimensions, there was a more positive opinion concerning the "extra-curricular activities and interpersonal relationships developed by the core stage." dimension. In what concerns the changes to the teaching practice, there are generally negative opinions, which made worse by the changes introduced by the Bologna process. |
