| Abstract | Beginning with the January 1961 issues of the NBS Journal of Research, the covers of Journal sections have been redesigned so as to emphasize the subject content of each of the four sections. Thus the name of this section becomes RADIO PROPAGATION, Section D of the JOURNAL OF RESEARCH, National Bureau of Standards. However, it is recommended that the present method of cit ing the Journal remain the same except for the addition of t he section title so that better continuity can be maintained with tbe referencing of prior issues; see example below. For the future the Bureau has adopted the following system as thc preferred method of referencing. References arc to be indicatcd in the text by t he insertion in brackets of the author's name and the year of pu blicfttion, t hus: [Trelease, 1"951]. If the ftuthor's Ilftme is part of the text, only the year is brttcketed, thus: " ... in a paper by Treleftse [1951]. " If there are two or more references citing different papers published in the same ~'eHr by t he same author, d ist inguish t hem by t he letters a, b, c, after t he year. H two or more references a,re gi vell ill t lte same brackets they should be given chronologically, thus : [Bean , 1953a and c; Harrison and King, 1955b]. At the end of the paper, list ftll references alphabeti c~tlly by the authors' names. Include in euch entry t he following: name of senior au thor, followed by his initiftls; names of junior authors, eaclt preceded b~' his initials, t itle of pftper (or book); title of publication or journtll ; volume number (n,nd section title) ; issue number; inclusive ptlge numbers; month and year of publi cation, thus: |
