| Abstract | In this work the role of mathematical modeling in Physics teaching is analyzed aiming at investigating its usefulness as a tool for the Physics teacher. Also, difficulties that high school students have to perform mathematical modeling for problem solving in Physics are assessed. Although, students of the Graduate show ease in the understanding of physical phenomena, the results indicate the need to work with competence writer, or that they express through writing their ideas, habits that can be taught to students when will teach. Another aspect to be highlighted concerns the commencement of investigative problems in a size that will ensure that students develop their own mathematical models and desvinculem is the "culture of problems-type" and "application of formulas," allowing the autonomy of thought and action by fostering educate the search. Furthermore, the creation of cooperative work must be frequent, so that students understand the importance of sharing knowledge in the construction of knowledge and that it allows the acquisition of values, attitudes, as it seeks to form citizens critics. |
