| Abstract | This qualitative and exploratory research was characterized as case study. The purpose was to investigate the possible mechanisms of male students exclusion due to different gender identities from the hegemonic masculinity. The research took place at Geraldo Reis and Aurelino Leal schools. The data collection instrument was a semi-structured interview, done with teachers of Physical Education from the respective schools, accounting a group of five informants. The results were analyzed by the Content Analysis and Gender Studies, originating five categories: “Preference for mixed classes”, “Causes of exclusion”, “Strategies to address gender issues inf EFe”, and “Crossing Gender boundaries”. It was concluded that in Physical Education classes, operates exclusion mechanisms and discrimination of students, that occur invisibly due to the naturalization of gender patterns. |
