| Abstract | The present study aimed determine the incidence of Chagas disease in newborns in San Juan de Dios hospital, because Chagas causes a great problem especially Chuquisacadepartment and in all provinces. Chagas disease is caused by the insect vector that represents a serious public health problem because of its magnitude and impact.The parasites responsible for the disease can be transmitted transplacentally given that transplacental infection occurs when there is the presence of the parasite in the mother's blood . This may occur either in the acute period , and chronic . A mother, serologically positive can transmit the disease to all or some of their descendants. It was concluded that until six months of age can be able to detect Chagas disease by micromethod or microhematocrittechnique . Because our positive case patients gave Coursing three months old . |
