| Abstract | It has been conducted a research to determine the geopolymer refractory microstructure and fire resistance durability. The geopolymer refractory was synthesized using alkali activated method from metakaolin mixed with volcanic dust from mount Merapi and curing at 70 0 C for 2 hours. Three samples, RMM_01, RMM-02, and RMM_03, have been produced by water (H2O) amount variation. The X-ray Diffraction (XRD) measurement result found that the phase composition among of the samples is different due to the amount of water. The microstructure properties of the samples were examined using scanning electron microscopy-Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS), while the Fire resistance durability was tested using a flame torch at 1500 0 C for 5 minutes. All produced samples has shown an excellent fire resistance durability. |
