| Abstract | Makassar coast is vulnerable to heavy metal pollution. Whether it's coming from people activities off the coast and inland, such as lead (Pb). The purpose of this study to determine the concentrations of heavy metals lead (Pb) in the snack food, shellfish Anadara sp. and urine of elementary school students Tallo Old 69 Makassar using descriptive observational study design and laboratory analysis. Population and the study sample, food snacks in schools, shellfish are often consumed the local community, as well as grade IV, V and VI as many as 20 people. Sampling was done by purposive sampling. Results of this study showed that the concentration of Pb in samples of snacks I (fried dumplings) of 0.023 mg / kg, bakwan (sample II) approximately 0.044 mg / kg and sample III (meatballs) worth 0,035 mg / kg, all of them no more than 0.25 mg / kg. On shellfish Anadara sp. I concentrate on the point of 0.739 mg / kg, point II approximately 0.674 mg / kg and the third point reached 0.837 mg / kg. Urine examination showed Pb concentrations of 20 samples of about 50-800 mg / ml. It is suggested that efforts toward understanding children and parents about the presence of Pb in the environment and the effects on health. |
