| Abstract | A new methodology of setting individual technology allowances standardsin offset printing The paper presents a new methodology of setting standard quantities of printing waste for offset printing for individual printers, based on recent research and trying to include more process parametres as an input. Using some general assumptions about the process, it is possible to describe the dependency between the required print quantity and the number of waste sheet as a function depending on several dimensionless numbers. By analysing a number of print runs from a given offset press, the unknown function coefficients may be found as a result of linear regression, and the statistical analysis can help in assessing the adequacy of such a formula for the specific process. The formula can be then used as a basis for predicting the waste quantity for subsequent similar print runs. |
