| Abstract | In the search for a satisfactory construction system, this guide is developed, whose main objectives are to demonstrate the technical and economic competitiveness of armed masonry, with respect to similar construction systems, under a system that achieves higher efficiency when determining greater security at lower cost and running in less time with less effort. The reinforced masonry is a construction system based on the use of masonry units with specific geometry and resistance, so that, to lock said units building a wall, ducts or alveoli are continuous interior, some of which are filled with concrete fluid to accommodate vertical reinforcements and others or are empty to contain electrical, sanitary pipes or special installation. The horizontal reinforcements are placed at 2 or 3 rows embedded in the mortar paste of the masonry units. The philosophy of the system, is that the resistant elements are not ducts or reduced sections of the beams, are the walls, that constitute integrated structural elements, acting as columns and beams at a time, and providing the system with satisfactory rigidity to avoid deformations and minimize drift floor, accelerating the construction system to not needing formwork and setting times. Economic competitiveness is achieved through the architectural prototypes, which runs the detailed structural design and compared with the traditional system, obtaining curves favoring reinforced masonry system. |
