Abstract	The continuous growth of heavy road traffic on the Brazilian highways has led the Brazilian Road Administrations to the search and development for new technologies and materials to improve and ensure a better performance, following some American and European models. This work intends to meliorate the solutions adapted by the Brazilian Road Administration. However, the lack of appropriate equipments for the correct characterization of the mechanical behaviour of asphalt and asphalt mixtures has limited the development of researches in the country. This research may be considered to be the first Brazilian study using asphalt rubber, obtained through terminal blend process, genuinely Brazilian, in order to evaluate the fatigue behaviour of asphalt-rubber mixtures through 4-point bending tests, in partnership with an European Institution. Thus, asphalt mixtures with asphalt-rubber terminal blend have been tested and compared to a conventional mixture of reference produced with CAP 50/70, which is usually applied on Brazilian highway surfaces. The results showed that asphalt mixtures containing asphalt rubber have a very superior performance in relation to the conventional mixture with CAP 50/70.
