| Abstract | UNDERSTANDING CAPACITIES AND COMPETENCES FOR PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Capacities and competences establish a dialectical relationship expressed in professional performance, which refl ects the quality of the formation of professionals. The interest in forming professional competen- ces requires students' conscious involvement in the mastery of their discipline fi eld, in order to be able to monitor and transform it. This supposes intentional learning and certain qualities to be integrated in the individual through professional competence. Both intentional learning and qualities integrate in a unit that determines the expected performance. This paper is a contribution to the bases for the relation between capacities and competences addressed from a qualitative epistemology. |
