Abstract	O objetivo deste estudo foi comparar as coberturas dos jornais Folha de Sao Paulo com o El Pais em relacao aos aspectos relativos a organizacao e funcionamento do megaevento esportivo. As unidades de significados definiram 2 categorias. O discurso do jornal modificava-se diante dos acontecimentos durante o evento. Primeiramente retratou a insatisfacao com a organizacao do evento e posteriormente predominavam as noticias sobre a capacidade brasileira em executar um megaevento esportivo. ABSTRACT 2014 World Cup in Brazil: a comparative study between the coverages by the Folha de Sao Paulo/ Brazil and el Pais/Spain Newspapers The aim of this study was to compare the coverages of Folha de Sao Paulo with El Pais newspapers in relation to the aspects related to organization and functioning of the sportive mega event. The units of meanings defined 2 categories. The newspaper’s speech modified in face of the events during the event. First, it portrayed dissatisfaction with the event organization and subsequently predominated the news about the Brazilian capacity in executing a sportive mega event.
